EMPI Engine Battle Competitors are required to use specific EMPI components in their builds including:

• EMPI engine case provided by AutoLinea, any EMPI forged crankshaft, any EMPI cylinder heads, any EMPI carburetor(s) any EMPI GT or GTV Series Deluxe camshaft kit, EMPI HEI Ignition kit, any EMPI manifolds, any EMPI Super Shroud, any EMPI valve covers, any EMPI crankshaft and accessory pulleys, and any EMPI or JOPEX exhaust. A complete list of approved part numbers will be published on the EMPIUS.com website.
• Competitors will use their choice of connecting rods, pistons and cylinders, rocker shafts, oiling systems, pushrods, pushrod tubes, fans, alternator/generator and stand, spark plugs, bearings and assembly hardware.
• Competitors are permitted to machine, modify and otherwise customize all engine components for maximum performance. 70% of the original EMPI part must be intact. There are no limits on engine displacement. No additional engine cooling systems or cooling mediums are allowed. Engine must be fully dressed with a shroud and tin. No air pumps or other belt-driven systems are permitted. No external ignition systems are permitted.
• Competitors will submit a complete engine build sheet with all specifications and provide an EMPI invoice confirming the purchase of specified EMPI parts to validate their entry into the competition.
