The EMPI Dune Buggy Rodeo is an EMPI Dealer exclusive one-day event; all competitors must be EMPI dealers in Good Standing.
The event is invitation-only and not open to the public or spectators.
Each competitor runs (3) full laps on the off-road circuit with elevation changes, whoops and jumps- best time is entered on the competitor’s score card.
Each competitor runs (3) full laps on the Rally-X circuit which is flat and unpaved- loose surface best time is entered on the competitor’s score card.
Each competitor’s entry is judged by a committee of peers, and judges’ scores are entered on the competitor’s score card.
Top score in each competition class wins a custom EMPI Dune Buggy Rodeo belt buckle and $750 cash prize.
(2) Runners-up in each competition class win EMPI Credits to use on their next order.

-Under 2000cc displacement -Minimal modifications
Super Stock Buggy / Baja
-Over 2000cc displacement -With extensive modifications to chassis, suspension, etc
Full Race Buggy / Baja
-Race Prepped build
Exhibition
-Any Buggy Bodied build on a VW or custom chassis, could include LS or Subaru motor swap
The Desert Track
The Desert Track circuit is approx. a 3-mile loop, surface is completely unpaved, with elevation changes and features whoops, berms and jumps to show off power delivery and suspension capabilities, competitors will be drawn in random order with 1 car on the course at a time

The Rally-X Track
Located 12 minutes from the Off-Road circuit, The Rally-X circuit is a 3-mile loop, surface is loose, completely unpaved and flat without any substantial elevation changes, to show off power, chassis set-up and handling, competitors will be drawn in random order with 1 car on the course at a time
